The New Volkswagen Golf GTI 2013

Last Saturday, I went down to the Volkswagen Centre Singapore, Macpherson showroom to check out the new Golf GTI. 

The team set the whole place up to give you the ultimate Golf GTI experience. 

The lights, the sights, and the roaring engine sounds made it feel like a passage into a different realm. Exciting!!

But you cannot deny, the star of this whole event is indeed the new Golf GTI. 

To me, this car is oh so sexy. I love that it's so sporty and yet spacious and practical for everyday driving. Plus it has eco features and low fuel consumption (Combined driving cycle: 6.6 L/100km. CO2 emissions: 153 g/km).

I love the tornado red but this car also comes in other colours. I think the Carbon Black is quite cool for a sporty car like this.

It's a 4 cylinder in-line petrol engine, 2.0L. 220bhp, with a 6 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox(DSG).

In terms of performance, it can reach top speeds of 244mk/h and 350Nm torque. Acceleration from 0-100km/h in 6.5 seconds.

The Golf GTI has sports-style bumpers, and the grille for front air intake is in a classic honeycomb structure. 

"Austin" alloy wheels, 7.5J x 18", wheel locks with extended anti-theft protection.

And a Panorama tilt/slide sunroof that opens! Me likey!

The steering is a leather covered 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel with operating facility for gear shift paddle and multi-function display.

We went out for a test drive. And I'm so impressed with the "Discover Pro" navigation system with 8 inch TFT touch screen display. Very user friendly. Oh and another feature that left me speechless was the Auto Parking... omg, precise parallel parking done for you in seconds. No need to gan cheong.
