New Doggy Diet For Lola

This is Lola's latest haul from Kohepets online. I don't know if you noticed, but there's no canned food in this latest order. It's because I'm changing her diet.

I'm moving her to raw or dehydrated dog food. They say it is probably the best thing you can feed your dog. Raw dehydrated dog food diet is in line with the natural diets of dogs in the wild - and is considered by many to be the most nutritious (and tasty!) way to feed your dogs. I chose Addiction Homestyle Venison & Cranberry Dinner Raw Dehydrated Dog Food ... because she does love this flavour in the Addiction canned food version. It can be served dry as it is (if I'm not mistaken? or mix with a little warm water). It has the full flavour and meaty texture of venison. This recipe is packed with over 45% of meat. Venison is highly nutritious and hypoallergenic, making it a great protein for restoring dogs’ vitality and wellbeing. It also has very low levels of cholesterol and fat (less than most cuts of beef, pork or lamb).

Recently, when Lola runs about the house in the morning, I can hear a clicking sound. You know the sound your knees can sometimes make? It wasn't loud but it was constant.. like as she's running I can hear click click click click. Only happens in the morning, then it stops for the rest of the day. Maybe she's getting old (6yrs this year)... or maybe it's the beginning of arthritis (please no!) ? It doesn't seem to bother her, but in any case, I'm picking out snacks which have ingredients which help the hip and joints. Got this Cloudstar Dynamo Dog Hip and Joint Treats in Bacon and Cheese. Maybe I'll get her a supplement for hip&joint care, they have a good range of these at Kohepets... not sure which to get yet.

I just randomly chose this Primal Freeze-Dried Turkey Liver Munchies because it was on sale. Regular retail price is $17, promo price is $13.60. Was so surprised when I opened the pack, I was like OMG this smells like foie gras! So delicious smelling, and it's freeze dried turkey liver but I could feel it still had this creamy foie gras kind of texture between my fingers. Man, I really felt like tasting it. lol.  Lola enjoyed it very very very much.

I got a couple sachets of The Honest Kitchen dehydrated dog food samples. Just want to try and see if Lola likes it before I decide on buying the full pack.

Just like the Dehydrated dog food from Addiction, it's dry and then you just add some warm water to it, stir, and then serve. 

Smells nice, like has tasty smelling spices and it's considered human grade food because it's made from good ingredients and no animal by-products. Safe for human consumption but I didn't want to try lol, not my kind of thing. Lola ate it, but I have to say, for her, she preferred the one from Addiction. Maybe because it's a flavour she's more familiar with. In any case, it's great that there are samples to try first, dogs have different preferences.
