Adamson, Myla and I went to Lavo for their Sunday Brunch buffet. which is an Italian American Buffet Spread.
Sundays 12- 3pm
$158 ++ (With Free Flow Veuve Champagne)
$98 ++ (buffet only)
$58 ++ for children (4-12yo)
Like most boozy Sunday brunch buffets at hotels, Lavo's spread includes U.S and Irish Oysters, Shrimp Cocktails, Chilled Lobster, Mussels. In addition (and this is one of the reasons I loved this buffet spread), they had fresh Scallops (on the shell) and chilled snow crab (which was actually pretty sweet and not tasteless like most frozen snow crabs at buffets).
And then reason #2 I love this buffet- they have pan Seared Foie Gras with Apple Chutney on Puff Pastry. And each cut is a generous piece of foie gras too. I used to go to the buffet at Raffles Hotel Billiard room (which is fantastic too) and they had foie gras too but always very tiny pieces so I keep having to go back to their counter for more.
Not straying from their Italian roots, they had a Parmesan Cheese Wheel with Linguine Pasta Cacio E Pepe Style. And other Italian fare.
Overall, I loved our time there. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food excellent. There's a beautiful rooftop view (57 stories up). There's a DJ spinning while you eat.
Pricey, but oh man it's such a treat. We will return.
P/S- They have high chairs for kids but if you're bringing toddlers, bring your own plastic bowls and cutlery, they don't have plastic ones at all. Myla is ok with breakable stuff (even though sometimes she's still clumsy and accidents do happen) but if MJ was with us, no way would he be able to eat off their plates, sure go flying.
